I've been having a dream about once every week or so where I am in a store of some type looking to purchase a tiny blue sapphire. However, I have never successfully been able to purchase one in the dream and I feel a sort of apprehension while looking at them. I don't know why I am there and I dont know why I want a sapphire at all.

The first dream I was at a standalone jewelry store, I walked in and asked the employee what had a sapphire in it. They showed me some rings, watches, and
Continue reading Recurring dream about purchasing tiny sapphires, what does it mean?

For my wedding ring, my (now) husband got me a gorgeous antique European cut diamond in platinum ring (which means the cut is designed to sparkle best in low/dim/candle light since they didn't have electricity back then lol).
He got it from a private antique dealer, so unlike chain jewelry stores, they don't provide insurance for their jewelry. The ring is 130 years old and it comes with a certificate and everything to verify it's authenticity - and before buying it, my husband got it independently appraised and checked out.

I know there are 100s of insurance companies out
Continue reading Insurance for a ring?

So my boyfriend and I went shopping and we found in an antique store a .78 carat european cut engagement ring with side stones and a matching wedding band. It was made in the 1930's.

I love it and it fit perfectly, size 6 all other jewelry stores had rings in size 7 and would have to be refitted. It is way below his budget for an engagement ring and it is the whole engagement and wedding set.

He wanted to get it for me right there, but he was concerned that I would have reservations about it
Continue reading Buying antique engagement ring and wedding band?
