What do you think of a "used" engagement ring?
My boyfriend and I are looking for an engagement ring. I really don’t think we need to spend a lot of money on it, but he wants something nice and "real" as in no CZ or man-made jewels.
We are looking at fine jewelry in department stores and places with sales.
He won’t hardly even consider a "second-hand" ring from Craigslist, newspaper ads, antique shops or anything like that. I think that you can get a really good deal and that there’s no reason to spend hundreds or thousands more just for something "new"

Is there a website where I can find out what jewelry markings mean?
So I was watching Antiques Roadshow the other day, and this lady had brought in some really old rings. The appraiser looked on the inside of the rings and explained that rings have all these markings that tell things about it (besides the Karat marker). I decided to look at the inside of my engagement ring since I never really thought about it before. My ring has an 18K, and another weird symbol, it’s a 5 point star with this thing next to it that sort of looks like an L, or even a British Pound sign. Is it strange to collect women's jewelry?
I used to collect women’s jewelry…I would win it in auctions on ebay, buy it in antiques shops….this way, when it was mom’s birthday, I had something for her and didn’t have to run around. I gave my sister a really nice pearl necklace set with diamonds. I get good deals on this stuff. I even bought an engagement ring in case I ever need it!

Do you HAVE to wear some sort of jewelry on your wedding day?
I’m a very plain and simple gal….my engagement ring and a watch are all I wear and have worn in my life!! My mom gave me an antique pearl necklace, but to me, it doesn’t look like "me" when I put it on. It’s odd to see necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc. on me….so….would it be TOO plain to not wear any jewelry on my wedding day?
