Charm bracelets are more like a story of your life with each one of those charms representing some significant moment in your life. Though all those charms dangling from your charm bracelet look pretty no doubt but they are much more than just fancy trinkets. These charms represent important life events and milestones.
There are many people who first get a charm bracelet at an important time in life or often these charm bracelets are given to them as gifts. The actual bracelets are known as the starter bracelets. Then when an important event occurs you can add on a charm to help you remember that specific event. For example a charm bracelet can be gifted to a mother to be who can use the bracelet to mark the important milestones in her baby’s life through various charms like pacifier, booties, teddy bear etc.
For hundreds of years charms and charm bracelets have been around and used on a regular basis. At one point in history they were thought to be special amulets, used to help get rid of evil eye and other forces of evil. In Egypt, pharaohs wore these bracelets as a status symbol. The advent of the 20th century saw Queen Victoria wearing these bracelets with items like crests and beads and they became immensely popular.
Of course each person uses these charms and charm bracelets for reasons of their own. Some like them as keepsakes and others like them due to the fashion statement they make. No matter the occasion, charms and charm bracelets make wonderful gifts. They are great for your daughter on her birthday or other important moments in her life. Many best friends wear identical charms bracelets to represent their friendship. Some times mothers wear charms bracelets with one charm for each of her children.
