Strange Gold Markings?

Markings on gold chain Question:

I have this rope diamond cut with markings: 417LJ on the clasp.

Can you help me identify these markings. Thank-you.

If the chain is indeed gold, you should have other marks available such as 9Kt or 18ct or 750 etc.

You might like to get an eyeglass and go over the chain one more time as hallmarks can be stamped in the most unusual of places, like inside links or just on one link and so on.
