14K Watch Case Locket Question: I've been hoping to find out who made this but it seems like gold marks are NOT as definitive as silver.
Price: $14.50 USD
I haven't been able to find anything on the Internet.
If I were to go to the library what books would you suggest?
I look in to see if I can find info on my Grandmother's locket?

Are you saying it is a locket AND a watch OR--- Was it an old watch, which has been converted to a locket?
If it is the latter then the hallmarks on the inside of the back cover should help.
You might like to go to the 'Antique Jewelry of the 20th Century' website at:
http://www.jewellery-antiques.com/ and click on their 'Antiques Bookstore' which is dedicated to all things antique with a special leaning towards jewelry.
On their Antique Bookstore site http://www.jewellery-antiques.com/bookstore/ there is one section just for watches - check out the books there.
There is also a search box. Type in American Watches (if it is American) and you will get several book choices.
They are all one click away plus they are NOT all that expensive.
The problem with the Library is their books are always too old and they don't cover all the specialized knowledge.
You might like to Bookmark that site and use their dedicated Bookstore because it cuts through all the 'other stuff' and just concentrates on one subject.
You might like to add this query to my blog at http://how2valuejewelry.com/ as other may have had a similar problem. Can't hurt anyway and who knows what answers you may get.
